It got so competitive and I got so burnt out that after I was done with college, I put it away. I play it at Christmas, occasionally. When my son said he wanted to play the drums, I kind of ignored him, but he persisted and people kept telling us ow much rhythm he had. So, after a year of begging, I have in. He is by far the littlest child that his instructor teaches. But, he does well, so we'll keep going. I read music, so that helped me to understand what was going on, but I still had to learn to read notes for percussion. It helped to have that musical background, if you don't, then I think you should take the lessons right along with him. That would be an awesome bonding experience anyway.

--BeckyFullPlateMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09293687772824676499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8636242478074362684.post-11151056051675327402009-04-10T19:46:00.000-07:002009-04-10T19:46:00.000-07:00My 5-year-old takes drum lessons. He's been in lessons for about 3 months now. He still loves it! I think if you don't put to much pressure on him he'll probably really like it.

Good Luck!
BeckyFullPlateMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09293687772824676499noreply@blogger.com
